Job Description

As a Spacecraft Cleanliness Technician at SpaceX, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all components meet stringent cleanliness standards before installation on our next-generation Starship and booster systems. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help safeguard the integrity of our spacecraft.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct thorough cleaning and inspection of SpaceX parts to ensure compliance with cleanliness requirements.
  • Utilize specialized cleaning techniques and equipment to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Document cleaning procedures and results, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify cleanliness requirements for various components.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cleaning protocols and best practices.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness in designated work areas, including cleanrooms and controlled environments.
  • Train and educate team members on cleanliness standards and proper cleaning techniques.
  • Perform regular audits of cleanliness processes and suggest improvements.
  • Identify preventative measures to eliminate sources of FOD.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in a professional setting.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in a cleanliness assurance or quality control role, preferably in aerospace or high-tech industries.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom standards and practices (e.g., ISO 14644).
  • Experience with documentation and quality management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in using cleaning and inspection tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of cleaning agents and techniques suitable for aerospace components.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform demanding task.
  • Willingness to work in various environments and weather conditions.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds from the ground floor.
  • Work on various structures and surfaces both at ground and elevated levels up to and possibly exceeding 200ft.
  • Must be able to work in a confined space.
