Summary
Job Description
Apply electrical and electronic theory and related knowledge, usually under the direction of engineering staff, to design, build, repair, adjust, and modify electrical components, circuitry, controls, and machinery for subsequent evaluation and use by engineering staff in making engineering design decisions. Excludes "Broadcast Technicians" (27-4012).
Responsibilities
Perform scheduled/unscheduled O-Level maintenance on specific applicable T/M/S aircraft Egress, Environmental and related systems. Perform flight line essential services as directed to daily Flight Schedule. Routine lifting in excess of OSHA standards is required. Routine ordnance loading will require team lifts of ordnance items up to 167 pounds’ load share per team member, in accordance with standard USN procedures.
Shall have authority to direct Level I work center personnel to accomplish specific maintenance actions as required to accomplish maintenance tasking in accordance with Department of Labor Skill Code definitions (responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.) Shall receive technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have been released from military service with an Honorable Discharge to meet minimum qualifications
- Candidate experience must be clearly defined on resumes by listing specific dates (month & year) and locations of relevant experience
- Shall have minimum of five years US Navy/USMC/USCG O-Level CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) aircraft maintenance support experience
- Minimum five years Organizational Level Avionics/Electrical experience on F18 aircraft (24 of the 36 months within last 3 years preferred)
- Knowledgeable in automatic flight control, stabilization systems, weapons integration systems and fuel quantity systems
- May be required to become Plane Captain certified in accordance with approved certification process for each T/M/S applicable to their background
- Experience as T/M/S CDI, CDQAR, Work Center Supervisor is required
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain or maintain a secret security clearance
- Must be available to work any shift
- Travel may be required
