Laundry Supervisor

This position will be physically located in Israel in support of the AFCAPV Program

Under supervision of the Custodial and Laundry Services Manager, the Laundry Supervisor assists the Custodial and Laundry Services Manager in the day-to-day management of the Custodial and Laundry Services operations by providing oversite, direction, planning, and coordination with sub-contractor and designated Vendors for the Support of occupants. Directly responsible for supervision of one Laundry Services Operation at a designated Camp, comprising of 1 – 4 drop-off/pick-up laundry facilities. Ensures personnel exhibit superior workmanship and focus upon a quality end product. Responsible for supervising the Vectrus staff, custodial, and sub-contractor laundry personnel and ensures that all the laundry provided to the Customer is cleaned IAW PWS, Sub-contractor SOW, Manufacturer equipment settings, and T.E. Ensures that all the laundry equipment, any other relevant equipment are in proper working condition, and that every employee adheres to Policies, Vectrus Policies and Standard Practices (PS&P’s), Performance Work Statement, Quality Plan, Safety Plan, and OSHA requirements and guidelines. Verifies actual hours worked by personnel to reduce manpower expenditure and reports verification to. Accountable for the health and safety of the subordinate employees working in the assigned Laundry facilities. Works in a challenging and fast pace job with last minute changes that may require immediate attention, in order to satisfy the customer.

• Responsible for oversite and supervision the Laundry Services daily.
• Knowledgeable of subordinate employee capabilities, their responsibilities for the Laundry Services, and assist management in the career development of employees, to include recognition for outstanding performance, counseling for positive and negative performance.
• Monitor the quality of work by the staff responsible for providing laundry services related to the care and maintenance of assigned buildings/facilities and linen exchange.
• Supervise the day to day laundry operations to ensure all laundry shall be washed in accordance with appropriate manufacturer equipment settings and/or the references listed in the PWS regarding Laundry Services to ensure that laundry is clean, disinfected, washed, dried, ironed, delivered, and stored in a proper manner, so as to ensure excellent Customer satisfaction
• Review and prepare administrative processing and maintenance of Laundry Services documents to reflect accountability, losses, gains or applicable changes of personnel and equipment and performs data inputs for required reports.
• Assists in the planning, development, and direction of the logistical and coordination support for daily Laundry Services as well as coordinate with sub-contractor for accommodation of any surge population support requirements.
• Interfaces with designated government representatives ,Vectrus Management, and other Vectrus Contractor elements to assure smooth operations and compliance with Government directives, standards , and needs.
• Assists in developing SOP’s, work instructions, and training plans that support contractual requirements.
• Regularly inspect the progress of the work at designated camp and laundry facility (to include off-camp vendor laundry facilities under the sub-contractor’s management) to ensure that compliance to safety and quality plans are adhered to.
• Responds to all Quality/Safety non-compliance concerns/issues (i.e, Customer comments, ICARs, NCR’s) to quickly resolve findings, identify, and implement measures to prevent further occurrences.
• Prepares bi-monthly work schedules, subordinate work assignments, review and approve time cards, and request overtime forecasts through Management, and adjusts schedules as necessary (subject to swing shift) to assist other sections when short staffed or when mission surge occurs.
• Sub-hand receipted for property book and GFE accountability of all equipment at the designated Laundry Service location.
• Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

• • High School diploma plus vocational training in administrative sciences.
  • Possess the knowledge possess knowledge of operation, maintenance, care, and repair of various laundry equipment.
  • Preferred in-depth knowledge of mixing processes, preparing solutions, sterilization methods, temperatures that need to be maintained during various laundering processes for different types of material, etc.
  • Familiarized with safety training on proper handling of linen, blood borne pathogens, and bed bugs.
  • Must possess a driver’s license from country of origin for the purpose of obtaining a Military or host country driver’s license.
  • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Experience:

• • Minimum of 1 year of housekeeping/laundry experience.
  • Preferred Supervisory experience and one year of experience supervising entry-level employees.
  • Proficient in intermediate level MS Office software applications such as Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
  • Preferred experience in maintaining and updating the records related to inventory and laundry supplies.

• • Must possess very good supervisory and management skills.
  • Need to be able to delegate work to the subordinates according to the changing priorities of the USG and Customers.
  • Good organization and training skills are essential.
  • Possess good problem-solving skills and should be able to maintain good relations with the USG and Customers by communicating effectively and building a rapport with them.
  • Flexible and have very good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to recognize and quickly resolve customer issues and work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Handle multiple tasks at any time.

Working Conditions:

• • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather condition with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

Physical Requirements:

• • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
