Job Description
The Subcontracts Manager leads supply chain and procurement activities with a strong foundation in leadership and project management. This role develops negotiation strategies and leads supplier negotiations for complex government contracts above the TINA threshold. The position also oversees contract execution and manages procurements throughout the full product life cycle. The manager supports multiple Government programs, with a focus on 1–5 highly visible or complex suppliers. This role leads significant project and process improvement efforts, both within and beyond the immediate functional area. The position communicates across internal and external stakeholders to influence practices, processes, and approaches. It also provides guidance to other employees while applying sound professional judgment and procurement expertise. This role requires adherence to established procedures and policies and includes approximately 20% travel.
Essential Functions:
- Travel: This role requires about 20% travel.
- Relationship Management: Establishes strong partnership with the internal L3Harris customers to understand and align with the business needs and objectives.
- Performance Management: Manage large team of subcontracts managers and procurement professionals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant management experience; or a Graduate degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related management experience; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related Management experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Government buying experience and familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements
