Physical Security Specialist I

Job Description
The Security Specialist on the Physical Security team at Castelion is responsible for protecting personnel, facilities, technology, and controlled information through access control, visitor management, credentialing, and security operations. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for facility entry, support compliance with export control requirements, monitor security systems, and maintain a secure operating environment. This position offers the opportunity to directly support the protection of advanced defense technologies while contributing to the growth of Castelion's security program.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary access control authority for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors entering Castelion facilities.
- Process visitors, validate access authorizations, coordinate host notifications, and ensure compliance with export control and company security requirements.
- Produce, issue, maintain, and account for employee, contractor, and visitor credentials and badge media.
- Monitor access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and alarm systems and appropriately document and escalate security incidents.
- Maintain visitor, credential, and security records while supporting audits, compliance activities, and physical security program requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in physical security, access control, visitor management, reception, customer service, military, or a related field.
- Experience verifying identities, credentials, and access authorizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, visitors, and senior leaders.
- Experience using computers and standard business software applications to maintain records and documentation.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, technology, critical infrastructure, or government environments.
- Experience operating visitor management systems, access control systems, CCTV platforms, and alarm monitoring systems.
- Experience issuing and managing employee, contractor, and visitor credentials.
- Familiarity with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), or export-controlled environments.
- Experience supporting front desk, lobby operations, security operations, or credentialing programs.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to put in extended hours, including evenings and weekends, when required to meet aggressive timelines.
- This role is based in Torrance, CA and requires full-time onsite presence.
- Ability to maintain professionalism while enforcing security requirements and denying access when necessary.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operations environment.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and any required pre=employment screening.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally move throughout office, manufacturing, and warehouse environments.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move items up to 40 pounds.

Pay Range
- $37.00 - $40.00/hour
