As a Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist for Category Management (CM), you join a team dedicated to supporting the warfighter. You will further the success of our programs to help Northrop Grumman leave the boundaries of what's known and solve tomorrow's problems. In this role you will work on sending Request for Quotes (RFQ’s), and negotiating purchase orders (PO), while managing orders to completion and building relationships with our CM suppliers. This position is located in Linthicum Maryland and San Diego California and includes a hybrid work environment.  This position will specifically support the Cables and Connectors category.

The Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and executing a mixed portfolio of subcontracts
  • Managing performance of subcontracts, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
  • Identifying strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations.
  • Understanding the buyer and seller’s roles to establish mutually successful business arrangements
  • Specifying solicitations and bid packages
  • Evaluating proposals and negotiating prices/terms
  • Developing and administrating contractual documentation and post awards
  • Leveraging your skill and talents throughout this role
  • Creating and establishing commercial determinations for purchase awards

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience or a master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience in one or more of the following: Subcontracts, Contracts, Proposal Price/Cost analysis, Procurement, Program Management, Supply Chain, Project Management, Advanced Planning, and/or Strategic Sourcing
  • Experience with SAP

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFARS
  • Supplier selection/management experience on US Government contract(s).  
  • Experience working within a government approved purchasing system. 
  • Experience with management of complex subcontracts

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,900.00 - $117,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
