Boeing Commercial Airplanes Out of Production Engineering team is seeking Senior Engineering Manager (Level L) for the role of Out of ProductionDeputy Chief Project Engineer (CPE) and Safety, Certification & Performance (SC&P) Leader to lead the development and execution of various design, safety, and certification projects in support of the Out of Production CPE. This position will be located in Seal Beach, CA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Deputy CPEs within the OOP CPE Office to resolve technical issues and ensure fleet safety

  • Provide subject-matter leadership for fleet safety by reviewing safety events, participating in COSP processes, and driving mitigation actions

  • Participate in the Cross Model Safety Review Board and represent organizational safety positions in governance decisions. 

  • Organize teams to investigate NOEs, and potential non compliances, and provide integrated summary of technical issues and recommendations to CPE.

  • Review daily COSP PSI reports and monitor emergent fleet safety issues; drive required follow-up and escalation.

  • Work with Fleet Chief Office and attend Fleet Support Review Board (FSRB) to identify and act on test/certification needs that support timely issue closure.

  • Represent the program in regulator meetings, collaborate with FAA and Reg Admin to escalate program-critical certification issues.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to engineering teams on unique and challenging certification projects.

  • Responsible for supporting CPE with overall product integrity and in-service safety of the Out of Production fleets.

Work Authorization:

  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at Seal Beach, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

  • 3+ years of management experience managing technical and/or engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in leading multi-functional teams to meet customer expectations on quality and schedule.

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience possess effectively communicating and influencing decision-making by internal and external management and senior level representatives.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to all stakeholders.

  • Solid technical background with the ability to guide and mentor the team.

  • Familiarity with BCAB, BPSM, COSP, and NNC review processes.

  • Experience working with regulators.

Summary Pay Range:

$182,000 - $246,000
