Job SummaryAs an Environmental Test Technician, you will set up and execute environmental tests including vibration, shock, thermal vacuum, and thermal cycling for components, subsystems, and satellite products. A successful candidate for this role will demonstrate integrity, intellectual curiosity, empathy, technical capability, and a strong motivation to support the environmental test resource. This role requires the ability to work the first shift.This position's internal job code is Environmental Test Tech. Our team is currently hiring for Grade 24.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Execute environmental tests of space flight hardware using a variety of specialized equipment and tools, including: electrodynamic shakers, thermal vacuum chambers, thermal cycling chambers, torque wrenches, adhesives, etc.

  • Install and operate test instrumentation and other specialized test equipment, including: accelerometers, thermocouples, etc.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, test procedures, etc.

  • Work with engineering to define and refine standard operating procedures

  • Record, prepare, organize, and deliver test data, run logs, and other relevant documentation for inclusion in final test reports

  • Maintain environmental test lab equipment, perform resource 5S activities, etc.

  • As required, oversee testing at outside test facilities

  • Support initiatives to maintain safe operations, ensure product quality, reduce lead time/labor hours, etc. through environmental test

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 4 or more years of experience with production or test environments

  • 4 or more years of experience operating any of the following specialized equipment (Electrodynamic shakers (vibration table), Thermal Vacuum Chambers and/or Thermal Cycling Cambers

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the aerospace industry

  • Experience with thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, shock, TVAC and/or acoustic testing

  • Experience working in cleanrooms with ESD sensitive components

  • Experience setting up and operating a wide range of machining tools, including: CNC mills, CNC routers, drill presses, grinders, chop saws, power and hand tools

  • Ability to obtain Clearance

  • Ability to travel

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Summary Pay Range: Grade 24: $29.42/hr - $47.09/hr
