Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Propulsion Systems Service Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join our team in Seal Beach, CA

In this role you will directly support customer technical inquiries and advocate customer issues within Boeing. This assignment will cover emergent short-flow inquiries as well as long-flow predictive/proactive projects. You will perform independent research and coordinate with internal groups and external partners/suppliers. 

This role will include working with 787 fuel systems and other propulsion functions. The team is fast-paced and works directly with customers to provide world-class customer support.

Boeing Customer Support operates 24/7/365; employees must be willing to work flexible hours and non-standard shifts to support our fleets. International and domestic travel may be required. 

The Propulsion Service Engineering Team answers urgent (short-term) inquiries and develops predictive/proactive (long-term) solutions for ATA 28 (Fuel Systems) and other propulsion ATA issues for airline customers. You will combine the deep expertise and resources of the Boeing enterprise with the flexibility and pace of a smaller team. You will collaborate with people worldwide to create and deliver innovative solutions to complex technical problems. 

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced Airplane Performance Propulsion Systems Service Engineer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies engineering principles to research technical, operational, and quality issues reported by airline customers and determine interim and final engineering solutions 

  • Responds to airline questions and reported problems through internal and external communication 

  • Assesses event reports for potential safety issues 

  • Troubleshoots airplane problems using airline-provided information, engineering data, partner and supplier data, maintenance publications, and other resources 

  • Develops and manages projects to resolve fleet issues 

  • Develops presentation materials and present information on in-service issues to review boards, management meetings, and airline forums 

  • Provides technical assistance onsite at airline locations as required 

  • Solves problems and provides technical customer support to fielded hardware across the product lifecycle 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry

  • 3+ years of experience with aircraft systems, structures, or propulsion

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years' related work experience

  • 3+ years of experience in propulsion fuel systems, structures and repairs

  • Experience with metallic and composite structures

  • Strong customer service attitude

  • Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience

  • Experience with Boeing 7-series airplanes

  • Experience with aircraft maintenance publications

  • Familiarity with Engineering Drawings

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range Level 2 (Associate): $104,400 - $127,600

Summary pay range Level 3 (Experienced): $126,900 - $155,100
