Spectrolab, Inc., is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Quality organization. This position is located at our manufacturing facility in Sylmar, California.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead auditor for internal audits and primary focal for the 3rd party AS9100 and customer audits
  • Quality Engineer for Illumination Products
  • Provides a strong Quality Engineering contribution to project design teams
  • Reads and interprets drawings and technical documents, develops and assesses corrective and preventive actions and ensures contract quality requirements are flowed down and adhered to.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • 5+ years of experience with quality inspection and/or auditing
  • 5+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
  • 5+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal and external customers, regulators and 3rd party auditors.
  • Experience in FAA part 145 Repair Station requirements.
  • Certified AS9100 Lead Auditor

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 5% of the time.

Summary pay range:

$130,900 - $177,100
