Plumber Supervisor (Plumbing Superintendent)

This position is physically located in Balad, Iraq

The Plumbing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Plumbing Department at the assigned site. Responsible for all technical work planning and supervising the maintenance, repair,

modification and installation of plumbing fixtures in buildings and facilities.

• Supervise the installation, repair and maintenance of water, plumbing and heating systems; maintain records and files; prepare reports.
• Plan, schedule and assign the activities of plumbers.
• Prepare and analyze reports and charts concerning worker utilization and job time rates.
• Establish work standards, production control, job priorities and preventative maintenance teams.
• Make sketches for plumbing layouts and determine types and quantities of materials necessary.
• Determine time and cost estimates for plumbing jobs.
• Supervise plumbing shop and perform plumbing shop work and related jobs.
• Assist staff with more difficult and complex projects.
• Assist skilled workers of related trades in general plumbing maintenance work.
• Maintain plumbing tools and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum Qualifications:
• Education/Certifications:
  • One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Certifications:
  • Minimum Journeyman Plumber Certification / license is required.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Degree preferred.
  • Master Plumber License preferred.
• Experience:
  • A minimum of ten (10) years plumbing and/or mechanical-pipefitting systems experience, which includes five (5) years of supervisory experience.
• Skills:
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the plumbing trade.
  • Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes.
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the mechanics of operation of equipment such as pumps, boilers, heaters, and other plumbing components.
  • Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of plumbing systems.
  • Skill in both verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in estimating time and materials common to the trade.
• Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervises a team of plumbers.
• Working Conditions:
  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
