SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team based in Panama City, FL.

The qualified candidate will support a US Navy contract at NSWC PCD by providing network support, hardware review, testing and evaluation, creating technical documentation and briefs, and direct support to customers. Typical core hours are 0800 to 1700.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Apply industry knowledge and technical abilities to assist customers in management of networks and hardware at sites under the command.
  • Advise on management and maintenance of switches, routers, firewalls, VPN gateways, VoIP telephones, VTC, and INE devices.
  • Developing high-quality documentation with minimal guidance that is coherent and easy to follow as well as complies with corresponding standard, style guide, and/or directive and meets the customers' and end users' needs. Documentation includes but is not limited to Technical Manuals (TMs), Test Plans, Maintenance Plans, Job Aids, Capabilities Briefs, and other instructional and guidance documentation.
  • Interpret engineering and maintenance drawings, operational procedures to understand and blend large quantities of computer related information.
  • Apply concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources.
  • Creating and manipulating charts, diagrams, etc. to be included in documentation.
  • Researching, collecting, analyzing, organizing, and preparing technical information and data.
  • Editing technical documentation for format, accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to government specifications.
  • Use multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc.
  • Scheduling, attending, and participating in project meetings, review meetings, and validation/verification events.
  • Creating and maintaining trackers for developing, planning, and scheduling purposes.
  • Maintain inventories of network and communications devices and equipment.
  • Serve as SME for deployment of tactical enclaves for exercises or contingency environments as needed.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and two (2) years’ experience; Masters and zero (0) years’ experience; four (4) additional years’ experience accepted in lieu of degree. 

Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated experience with configuration and troubleshooting of routing, routing protocols, ACLs, firmware upgrades, DHCP.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and configure networks, routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP, and connectivity.
  • CCNA Certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days for candidate with acceptable experience and resident network knowledge.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.

Required Clearance:

  • Candidate must have minimum active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Required Travel:

  • Travel required up to 10% of the time.
