SAIC’s National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring to advance space capabilities supporting our Department of Defense (DOD) and Intelligence Community customers. Ten miles from the SAIC headquarters, our Chantilly, VA team supports systems development, targeting & intelligence analysis, systems engineering & integration and more.

This position is for a Satellite SETA Program Manager for a large, multi-year contract supporting a cutting-edge and innovative space program. The Satellite SETA Program Manager must possess, and have successfully demonstrated, Contracts Office Technical Representative expertise, experience managing cost, schedule, and technical performance.  Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the interpersonal skills.  The Satellite SETA Program Manager will partner with the Government PM and subsystem Subject Matter Experts (SME) to effectively plan, organize and execute all acquisition activities across the system life cycle.

Role Responsibilities

The Satellite SETA Program Manager provides leadership and support to the customer’s execution of the Program with responsibilities that may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Partner with Government Program Manager to plan, execute, and oversee Developer contract activities. 
  • Manage and report budgetary needs and oversee Developer contract financial performance, including EVM, obligations, and executions.
  • Coordinate with SETA PM and Team Leads to identify subsystem SMEs and System Engineer support to direct and oversee Developer technical performance.
  • Track and report progress at multiple levels of Contractor and Government leadership.
  • Lead Program Office team assess Developer system engineering designs and readiness.
  • Identify and promote best practices to improve effectiveness of Program Office processes.

Qualifications

  • TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Experience with the Intelligence Community and/or the Department of Defense Program Office best practices.
  • At least 3 years experience in a satellite program office serving key leadership roles as a Government or Contractor.
  • Bachelor's degree and 9 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree and 7 years of relevant experience; PhD and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Government or Commercial experience as a COTR, PM, PEM or acquisition leader. Acquisition, PM, and COTR certification is desired.
  • Budgetary, financial and EVM experience.
  • Ability to lead, and be the primary point of contact, for one or more projects.
  • Effective interpersonal skills (across multiple groups, offices, and organizations) and strong briefing and writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate to a diverse audience of senior decision makers with varying levels of programmatic and technical expertise.
  • Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment with no supervision.
