SAIC is seeking a Communications Specialist for a deployable C4I system based in Bahrain. 
The qualified candidate will be a part of a small, agile, embedded team of support SMEs providing on-site support; to include system administration, network administration, communication, and infrastructure. Embedded personnel are considered subject matter experts (SME), mission essential and deployable on any Regional Combat Command (RCC) exercises or operations that require the use of C2 Family of Systems. The Team provides on-site technical support at the garrison and deployed locations where the C2 system operates. minimum of 1 year assignment. Personnel may receive housing, cost of living, and relocation allowances in addition to base salary. This role cannot be supported remotely.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining, processing and troubleshooting satellite systems.
  • Submitting satellite and gateway access requests (SAR/GAR).
  • Creating Request for Maintenance Assistance (RMA).
  • Operating, maintaining and troubleshooting Harris radios.

Typical operation and maintenance support is 5 days a week for each fielded system. Typical core operating hours at each location are 800 to 1700. Work hours in excess of 40 hours per week per person may be required during contingency operations (deployments or exercises), an alternate work schedule may be required to support 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and two or more years of related experience; four years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of setup and sustainment support of deployable C2 systems.
  • Experience working with Harris radios or equivalent RF equipment.
  • Experience in SATCOM administration.
  • Understanding of SAR/GAR and mission planning activities. 

Clearance: 

  • Must have minimum of Secret security clearance to start.

Travel:

  • Must be willing to relocate to work site location if not a current resident for at least one (1) year. May include additional travel up to 20%.
