Amentum are offering an exciting opportunity to join our growing team of IT professionals to work on a range of projects for our diverse client portfolio that covers Critical National Infrastructure, National Security, Defence and Nuclear market sectors. Our team is growing and are we looking for proactive and collaborative professionals of all levels to work within us in providing a range of services to our clients. With our deep technical, commercial, and strategic expertise we develop solutions that address our client’s critical challenges supporting digitalisation and security.

We are looking for a Systems Integration & Test (SI&T) professional with strong experience in Defence environments, integrating complex systems, and ensuring end-to-end operability across multi-domain architectures. This role goes beyond just test execution, requiring understanding of how systems, interfaces, and data flows come together within a broader system-of-systems context.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead / support the integration of complex systems, ensuring interoperability across hardware, software, networks, and data layers.
  • Identify, analyse, and resolve integration issues across system boundaries, including APIs, data flows, and network interfaces.
  • Develop and manage integration and test artefacts (plans, cases, scripts, reports), ensuring traceability to requirements and architecture.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, architects, developers, and security teams to ensure coherent end-to-end solutions.
  • Support verification and validation activities, ensuring that integrated systems meet functional, performance, and security requirements.
  • Contribute to integration risk management, defect resolution, and continuous improvement of integration and test approaches.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years proven experience in Systems Integration and Test within UK Defence or similar high-assurance environments.
  • Strong experience integrating complex, multi-system solutions (system-of-systems).
  • Experience of test planning, management, execution, and reporting.
  • Experience working across system lifecycles (e.g. CADMID), including integration, verification, and validation phases.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including suppliers and partner organisations.
  • Experience with networked systems and integration across distributed environments.
  • Knowledge of test and integration methodologies (e.g. V-model, Agile, DevSecOps).
  • Experience with integration and test tooling (e.g. test management tools, automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Ability to analyse system behaviour, troubleshoot issues, and identify root causes across complex architectures.

Standards & Frameworks:

Understanding of systems engineering and integration standards (e.g. ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288).

Awareness of security and interoperability considerations within Defence systems.
