Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Supplier Quality Manager 2.  This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

As a key leader within the Supplier Mission Assurance (SMA) team, the Supplier Quality Manager 2 is responsible for managing the Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) assigned to various Supplier Management Teams (SMT). Your primary objective is to partner with SMTs to drive supplier success, improve material and service quality, and mitigate supplier risk. You will work closely with Quality & Mission Assurance, Global Supply Chain (GSC) leaders, and cross-functional teams at multiple sites to deliver strategic thought leadership and preventive solutions.

 What You’ll Get To Do: 

  • Lead and manage a team of Supplier Quality Engineers assigned to SMTs, fostering strong partnerships to ensure suppliers meet quality and performance expectations.
  • Engage in program activities to identify and quantify supplier quality risks in program sourcing plans; influence sourcing strategy and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with GSC and SMT to ensure that program-specific quality requirements are clearly defined and flowed down to suppliers through purchasing documents.
  • Coordinate with SMT and Sentinel Integrated Project Teams (IPT) to execute risk mitigation strategies aligned with key program schedule milestones.
  • Work with GSC, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Program Management to identify and address supplier quality issues during onboarding, receiving inspections, and QMS reviews and audits. Drive suppliers toward sustainable Root Cause and Corrective Actions.
  • Collaborate with program teams to secure proper funding for Supplier Quality risk mitigation and product validation activities; ensure consistency with the spend plan.
  • Partner with GSC teams to identify critical suppliers and ensure that quarterly quality performance feedback (Supplier Assessments or SAP Scorecards) is accurate, effectively communicated, and used to lead continuous improvement processes.
  • Promote the professional development and training of the SQE team while fostering a collaborative work culture characterized by mutual respect, inclusion, and a commitment to innovation, affordability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear assignments that help employees understand how their work connects to the broader organizational goals, and create an environment that motivates high performance.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience in Program or Project Management, Quality, Mission Assurance, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Operations, or Engineering OR a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of related experience or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience managing and/or leading teams of people.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
  • Experience with implementing and utilizing quality tools and processes, such as: Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Eight Disciplines (8D), Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Supplier Corrective Actions (SCAR), cause-and-effect diagrams (Fishbone), etc...
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: 

  • Defense Industry experience as a Program or Project Manager, Quality Manager, Supplier Quality Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Engineering Manager or Manufacturing Management.
  • Experience ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System lead auditor with experience and a Quality System Certifications and Management.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification to drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience with program / product lifecycle ranging from development to full-rate production. Areas of expertise should include source selection, supply chain management, production control, product test & evaluation, root cause analysis, product sell off, shipping and product support.
  • Experience resolving complex program issues and driving program performance.
  • Experience with establishing, implementing and sustaining supplier management teams and plans, identifying proactive supplier oversight approaches and risk mitigation activities

Primary Level Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $189,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
