Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Maintenance Mechanic 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be on site in Melbourne, FL.

                            

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable working in a professional environment, and be able to collaborate closely with engineers, designers, administrative professionals, and management.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • moving, assembling, modifying modular and fixed office furniture, including sit-stand ergonomic setups
  • working requests that may fall outside given trade, to include helping with plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting, fire systems, grounds, escorting, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED
  • Must have the flexibility to occasionally work off shifts and weekends when required. Position may be flexed to second shift
  • Basic understanding of electricity, plumbing and general mechanical aptitude
  • Valid Florida Driver’s license with the ability to safely operate large box truck weighing 10,001 – 26,000 lbs.
  • Must have experience working with computers to receive and close-out work orders, operate in Outlook, Teams, SharePoint
  • Must be capable of lifting 50+lbs, climbing a ladder, reaching overhead, bending down, full use of both hands, withstanding extreme temperature and/or humidity
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. Government Top-Secret Clearance and Program Accesses required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active, In-scope DoD Secret or Top-Secret SCI clearance
  • Current CDL License within the state of Florida
  • 2 years of facilities-oriented maintenance experience 
  • Experience working in classified spaces, in or around engineering and manufacturing environments
  • Vocational and/or post-secondary education
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - Maximo experience preferred
  • Experience with moving heavy equipment (pallet jack, wheel truck, forklifts)
  • Experience installing and/or servicing doors, locks, gates, traffic arms
  • Experience with or ability to learn learn CNC machinery equipment
  • Hands-on experience working on CNC’s Mills, Water Jets, Paint booths, Ovens and other types of Manufacturing Equipment
  • Hands-on Maintenance experience with Mechanical Systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Positive customer service experience
  • Welding experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $40,700.00 - $67,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
