Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineering Section Manager to join the Strategic Command, Control, and Communications Systems (SCS) Systems Engineering Department. This position is in Melbourne, Florida.

The SCS Systems Engineering Section Manager for the System Architecture Design Section will execute Section Manager responsibilities on a 20% allocation and execute technical statement of work within this section on an 80% allocation.

Key Responsibilities (20% Section Manager, 80% Systems Engineering Contributor):

• Coach and develop the performance and career objectives of direct staff, including training, quarterly conversations, performance evaluations, time keeping, merit reviews, promotions, and disciplinary processes

• Plan and review compensation actions; enforce HR policies and procedures

• Hire candidates to fulfill the business needs of the SCS business unit

• Manage cost and schedule related to technical scope of section to ensure section delivers products or services on time and within budget

• Track progress through technical performance metrics

• Maintain a high level of integrity in alignment with our NG Values and Leadership Behaviors

• Execute tasking related to the technical scope of section

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 9 years engineering experience OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of engineering experience

• Must have an active DoD Top Secret (interim at minimum) clearance

• Recently demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering practices

• Experience in the military aerospace development environment

• Previous Systems Engineering leadership experience

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) with direct responsibility for managing cost and schedule

• Experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (such as Cameo or Rhapsody) to model large systems with multiple developers

• Solid understanding of system architecture best practices

• Expertise in CAMEO meta chain navigation to generate custom queries (expert level knowledge)

• Experience with black box/white box

• Experience applying MBSE concepts throughout the system life cycle (requirements, architecture, design, verification, validation)

• Skilled in scripting (Python, JavaScript) for automation of repetitive modeling tasks

• Experience with CAMEO configuration management (Define branching/merging strategies, lock policies, and model baselines aligned with project governance)

• Expert knowledge DoDAF or SysML

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $208,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
