Essential Functions:
- Perform data entry and maintain records for inspections, non-conformances, and reports.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers and Operations to manage daily priorities.
- Perform duties in compliance with documented procedures.Program, set up, and operate CMM equipment to inspect complex mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
- Review engineering drawings and CAD models to develop inspection programs using CMM software such as PC-DMIS, QUINDOS, or MCOSMOS.
- Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to accurately measure part dimensions and verify tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CMM equipment to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve measurement-related issues and improve inspection processes.
- Analyze measurement data, generate detailed inspection reports, and recommend corrective actions for non-conforming parts.
- Develop and maintain inspection documentation, including program files, setup sheets, and calibration records.
- Train and mentor team members on CMM operation, programming, and best practices in dimensional inspection.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures in all measurement activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of quality control processes.
- Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Expert knowledge and/or experience with ASME Y14.5 and GD&T.
- Experience with Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software.
- Basic understanding of aircraft construction and materials.
- Working ability to utilize measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and pin gauges.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $68,500 -$127,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
