THE WORK
The Hydraulic & Mechanical Flight Controls Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and manufacturing of aircraft flight control hardware.
As a key member of our Flight Controls team, you will:
• Develop & Maintain 3 D Solid Models – Build and update models of pushrods, bell cranks, supports, cable systems, servos, hydraulic pumps, valves, filters, reservoirs, and associated plumbing using 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) or CATIA V5 with LCA.
• Conduct Finite Element Stress Analyses – Perform ANSYS simulations on components and assemblies, applying geometric tolerancing and dimensioning to validate structural integrity.
• Support Manufacturing Installation – Assist manufacturing teams during component installation, troubleshooting fit and function issues on the shop floor.
• Generate Technical Documentation – Produce and maintain design documentation, status reports, and installation guides for internal design and cross functional teams.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline
• Proven experience with mechanical systems design.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic system components (pumps, valves, reservoirs, filters)
Desired Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in 3DX, CATIA V5, LCA, MatrixOne, and ANSYS
• Experience with Geometric Tolerancing
• Experience with Mechanical Flight Controls Design

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
