Supplier Quality Systems Engineer

Austin, Texas
Full Time On-site

Summary

Job Description

Job Overview

The Supplier Quality Systems & Technology Engineer will define, build, and scale the systems that underpin Saronic’s supplier quality and broader supply chain operations. This role sits at the intersection of supplier quality, operations, and technology, responsible for translating real-world manufacturing and quality needs into scalable digital systems and workflows.

You will help architect and implement supplier quality and supply chain systems from the ground up, balancing near-term execution with long-term scalability. This includes evaluating and deploying off-the-shelf tools, defining requirements for internal software development, and ensuring systems are practical, efficient, and aligned with how the business actually operates.

The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, systems-minded, and pragmatic, capable of building high-caliber solutions without overengineering or blindly replicating legacy defense contractor models. You will work closely with Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Software teams to create systems that evolve with Saronic as it scales.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the roadmap for supplier quality systems and supporting supply chain infrastructure

  • Translate supplier quality, manufacturing, and operational needs into clear system requirements and workflows

  • Partner with software engineering teams to scope, design, and implement internal tools where needed

  • Evaluate, select, and implement off-the-shelf software solutions (e.g., QMS, supplier management, traceability tools)

  • Build scalable processes for supplier qualification, performance management, nonconformance handling, and corrective actions

  • Ensure systems balance speed, usability, and rigor—avoiding unnecessary complexity or “checkbox” processes

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to align systems with operational realities

  • Anticipate future scaling needs and design systems that can evolve with increasing production volume and supplier complexity

  • Drive data visibility and reporting across supplier quality metrics to enable better decision-making

  • Continuously improve systems and workflows based on feedback, performance, and changing business needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field

  • 4+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, supply chain systems, or related roles

  • Experience working with or implementing quality management systems (QMS) and/or supply chain software platforms

  • Strong understanding of supplier quality processes (e.g., qualification, audits, SCAR/CAPA, performance management)

  • Experience translating operational needs into system or software requirements

  • Ability to work effectively with both technical (engineering, quality, software) and non-technical stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to build or improve systems in fast-paced, scaling environments

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, execution-focused mindset

Benefits

  • Medical Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance plans covering a range of services

  • Saronic pays 100% of the premium for employees and 80% for dependents

  • Dental and Vision Insurance: Coverage for routine dental check-ups, orthodontics, and vision care

  • Saronic pays 99% of the premium for employees and 80% for dependents

  • Time Off: Generous PTO and Holidays

  • Parental Leave: Paid maternity and paternity leave to support new parents

  • Competitive Salary: Industry-standard salaries with opportunities for performance-based bonuses

  • Retirement Plan: 401(k) plan

  • Stock Options: Equity options to give employees a stake in the company’s success

  • Life and Disability Insurance: Basic life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage

  • Additional Perks: Free lunch benefit and unlimited free drinks and snacks in the office

About Saronic

Saronic

Saronic is one of the fastest-growing defense technology companies focused on autonomous maritime systems for the U.S. military. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, the company builds intelligent Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs) designed to improve maritime surveillance, operational reach, and force protection in contested environments. Saronic is helping modernize naval operations through AI-powered unmanned vessels capable of supporting missions ranging from reconnaissance and logistics to distributed maritime operations.

For job seekers, Saronic offers opportunities to work on some of the most advanced technologies in maritime defense, including autonomy, robotics, AI, naval architecture, software engineering, manufacturing, and mission operations. The company hires across mechanical engineering, embedded systems, autonomy software, marine design, production, and field testing—making it especially attractive to engineers, veterans, maritime professionals, and builders who want hands-on ownership of mission-critical systems.

Unlike traditional shipbuilders or legacy defense contractors, Saronic operates with a startup-style engineering culture centered around speed, rapid prototyping, and real-world deployment. Employees work closely across hardware, software, and field operations to design, test, and scale autonomous vessels faster than traditional defense timelines, giving team members direct exposure to high-impact products supporting national security missions.

As the U.S. military increases investment in autonomous naval systems and maritime modernization, Saronic continues to grow rapidly through major funding rounds, Navy contracts, and manufacturing expansion. For professionals seeking a high-growth defense company at the intersection of AI, robotics, and naval technology, Saronic is quickly emerging as one of the most exciting employers in the defense innovation ecosystem.
