Job Description

Castelion is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help scale and automate our software development and test infrastructure. This role will focus on closing the gap between required engineering tooling and automated processes across the software lifecycle.

You will design and implement CI/CD workflows, integrate software pipelines with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing environments, and improve the reliability and efficiency of our development infrastructure. This role is ideal for engineers with backgrounds in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) who enjoy working close to both software and hardware teams to streamline complex engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain CI pipelines to support rapid and reliable software development and testing
  • Integrate CI workflows with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and automated test environments
  • Improve automation across build, test, deployment, and release processes
  • Design and manage development infrastructure supporting engineering teams
  • Maintain and improve containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Support hybrid infrastructure across on-premise systems, lab environments, and cloud services
  • Implement and maintain tooling that supports embedded software, robotics, and simulation workflows
  • Integrate build systems, artifact management, and test frameworks into automated pipelines
  • Work closely with software, simulation, and hardware teams to remove bottlenecks in engineering workflows
  • Improve reliability, monitoring, and observability of internal development platforms
  • Implement monitoring and telemetry solutions using tools such as Grafana
  • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure, networking, and performance issues
  • Enforce secure development and infrastructure practices
  • Manage access controls, secrets management, and system configuration across environments

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
  • Strong experience administering Linux-based systems
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong understanding of Git and modern software development workflows
  • Experience troubleshooting infrastructure, networking, and build system issues
