Job Description

Role Overview:

  • Lead execution of high-rate production using lean principles and standard work
  • Drive output against build plan while maintaining quality and process discipline
  • Develop technicians and enforce accountability on the floor
  • Own flow, identify abnormalities, and drive rapid problem resolution
  • Build scalable production systems while operating at pace

Responsibilities:

  • Production Execution
    • Own shift-level execution vs. build plan (output, takt, WIP)
    • Ensure adherence to standard work and process controls
    • Monitor performance vs. targets and respond immediately to gaps
    • Drive recovery actions to maintain schedule
    • Coordinate with Material, Quality, and Engineering to maintain flow
    • Ensure readiness of material, tooling, and test before work starts
    • Communicate status, risks, and recovery plans clearly
  • Lean Operations & Flow
    • Implement and maintain visual management (boards, status, abnormalities)
    • Identify flow disruptions and eliminate waste (waiting, rework, motion, etc.)
    • Maintain line balance and WIP control
    • Escalate and resolve constraints quickly (andon mindset)
  • Leadership & Accountability
    • Act as the first line of defense against material-driven downtime
    • Direct and prioritize technician work in real time
    • Enforce discipline around pace, quality, and standard work
    • Develop team capability through coaching and on-the-job training
    • Hold clear ownership for execution at the line level
    • Lead structured problem solving (5-Why, root cause) on production issues
    • Contain issues immediately and drive permanent corrective actions
    • Capture and standardize improvements into process and work instructions

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years in manufacturing leadership in high-rate environments
  • Strong experience with lean manufacturing systems and standard work
  • Proven ability to manage technicians and drive disciplined execution
  • Experience managing WIP, flow, and production constraints in real time
  • Hands-on experience with structured problem solving (5-Why, root cause)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience implementing Toyota Production System principles
  • Experience with visual management and tiered accountability systems
  • Background in electronics or hardware manufacturing
  • Experience in aerospace/defense or high-reliability production
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems

Salary Range: $80,000 - $130,000

The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base compensation range and excludes additional earnings such as bonus, equity, and benefits.
