Overview
The Supply Chain Organization is seeking a Supply Chain Supervisor reporting to a Manager of Supply Chain within the Indirect group. The successful candidate will supervise a salaried workforce of buyers responsible for all procurement efforts associated with indirect procurement, and various other efforts as assigned to the group.
Responsibilities will include supervising personnel in various procurement functions, including but not limited to:
- Strategic sourcing / contracting, work scope development, generation of RFPs
- Review of supplier proposals for adequacy and compliance including supplier selection plans, contract terms and conditions, cost/price analysis
- Negotiation of Price, Delivery and other Terms and Conditions
- Contract administration including managing the supplier, as well an internal departments, to ensure successful contract performance
- Ensuring ITAR compliance when conducting business with foreign suppliers
- Material and services prioritization to support shipyard needs
- Resolution of problems affecting contract performance and shipyard schedules
- Supplier development and relationship management
- Purchase order and subcontract closeout
- Oversite and management of suppliers
Additionally, supervisory duties will include training and development of personnel, assignment of work and prioritization, review and approval of work product, labor budget development, labor approvals and progressing, assuring timely completion of work assignments, and salaried performance reviews.
Position requires proven skills in: project management, organization, multitasking, problem solving, negotiating and communication, as well as contractor capability knowledge, technical knowledge of manufacturing, construction, and various business processes and excellent computer skills. The ability to interface effectively with Shipyard End Users, Program Office, EB Engineering and various customers both at Quonset Point and Groton, Supplier Senior Level Executives, as well as Senior Electric Boat Management Staff is essential.
Travel will be required from time to time and the ability to travel between Electric Boat sites on an as needed basis.
Qualifications
Required:
- A Bachelors Degree
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain supporting both direct and indirect procurement efforts
- Demonstrated experience in a team lead role
- Proficiency with MS Office
Preferred:
- A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Construction, Economics or associated field
- Experience working with Senior Management at Electric Boat
- Leadership experience
