Overview
A project position focusing on process improvements and process development in accordance with the BOS within the Planning organization. Where improvements impact deliverables or customer processes, the person will be required to coordinate and facilitate the smooth execution of the changes across the Trade Planning organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- This position will be a lead point of contact to resolve departmental process gaps, execute and review root cause analysis to identify process issues, resolve complex process problems / inconsistencies, and develop and implement department policy.
- The position will lead strategic and tactical approaches to ensure optimal process efficiencies are in place to produce quality work while meeting schedule commitments.
- Support the Trade Planning Teams quality assurance program by working independently and as part of the team to remove obstacles that are preventing the organization from meeting quality goals.
- Develop Dashboards, weekly reporting, monitor action items, and support the organization to ensure procedure compliance and quality goals are met.
Safety Leadership:
- Provide a plan for Operations to execute in a safe manner.
Project Execution:
- Develop and maintain Dashboards and metrics for Trade Planning in support of the BOS.
- Run Data queriesin support of PBOM.
Training and Development:
- Set up training classes and maintain training records for Packaging
Team Collaboration and Communication:
- Assure all process and procedures are kept updated by the team
Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in BOS manufacturing principles and productivity enhancements.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills associated with reporting and system support will be necessary
Responsibilities
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in a business or technical field; and/or 5 years of experience in Shipbuilding, Planning preferred
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of Planning processes, packaging and work order content.
- Understanding of Design processes preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise and effectiveness with Microsoft Office products.
- Working knowledge of Project Management with an understanding of Configuration Management.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment (Facilitation experience preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to work multiple priorities and resolve complex issues with minimal direction.
- Highly self-motivated, strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to take the initiative when required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
