What We’re Doing
Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Regional team, is constantly engineering, developing and integrating new capabilities for the U.S. Missile Defense System. protecting both the United States and its allies. This large, fast paced team, is composed of many small agile teams working together dynamic environment with a common mission to develop and deploy leading-edge missile defense technologies.
The Work
The C2BMC-Regional Application Agile Release Train is seeking a Systems Architect that will thrive in a fast paced team environment in the design, development, and testing of the C2BMC applications.
Responsibilities will include defining and overseeing the implementation of the software architecture for a Java-based missile defense command and control system and ensuring the architecture is consistent with the architecture design tenets on the C2BMC program. This includes providing direct technical support to the Chief Engineer and Chief Architect and coordinating across engineering disciplines (e.g. Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Integration & Test, Operations & Sustainment).

Basic Qualifications:
Generally has 5+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
Must have Final DoD Secret to start and will likely require ability to get cleared to TS/SCI in the future.
Security+ or equivalent/higher certification required within the first 60 days from start of this position.
Experience with the Java programming language and developing software throughout the full software lifecycle.
Understanding of modern software architecture paradigms such as event-driven architectures or service-oriented architectures.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity principles, static and dynamic security assessment tools (e.g. SonarQube, OWASP ZAP), Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and secure system architecture.
Knowledge and experience with virtualization, containerization, and orchestration.
Ability to apply automation and CI/CD pipelines to enforce standards to drive quality and test repeatability.
Previous experience with missile defense, and command & control systems highly desired.
Experience with Test Driven Design (TDD) methodology strongly desired.
Architecture development and coordination, defining the relationships between internal and external components; communicating architectural intent and constraints to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users.
Effective communicator that can bridge engineering disciplines, customer and program leadership, and individual contributors to produce solutions.
Experience mentoring and educating other engineers.
Creative problem solver to find solutions within technical and programmatic constraints.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $118,700 - $209,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
