787 Airframe in Boeing Commercial Airplanes is hiring for a Mid-Level (Level 3) or Experienced (Level 4) Structures Technical Analyst for our Wing, Wing Edges, Empennage, Systems Stress, or Interiors Stress teams to work at our North Charleston, SC location. This is a great opportunity to work in the Commercial Airplanes South Carolina Design Center, as a Structures Technical Analyst.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs limited structural analysis for design, fleet support and structural testing.

  • Gathers data to draft documentation of analyses.

  • Assists in development tools to support structural engineering.

  • Creates simple structural math models.

  • Develops, uses and maintains data and data management tools.

  • Works under general direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the North Charleston, SC location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Associates degree or higher

  • 3+ years of experience in the structural or aerospace industry

  • 3+ years of experience performing basic structural analysis assessments in support of design studies, fleet support inquiries or structural testing

  • Familiarity with FAA CFR Part 21 & 25 regulations

  • Experience with performing technical writing

  • Ability to apply classical hand analysis methods

  • Ability to perform FEA to down select suitable options during design/trade studies

  • Prior experience with aircraft, heavy structures, hardware systems or interiors manufacturing/production systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Associate's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering

  • (Experienced level) 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3+ years of experience performing basic structural analysis assessments in support of design studies, fleet support inquiries or structural testing

  • 2+ years of experience developing certification related documentation

  • 1+ years of experience developing analytical processes or tools

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

  • Summary pay range for Experienced (Level 3): $68,850 – $93,150

  • Summary pay range for Senior level (Level 4): $81,600 – $110,400
