You will be the Electro Mechanical Design Engineer for the Orlando Test Engineering & Production team. Our team delivers rugged electromechanical packaging for avionics cards, cable assemblies and supporting structures, providing the hardware that enables both test bed validation and high rate production of mission critical systems.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Electro Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for creating and documenting hardware designs that meet strict performance, reliability and safety requirements. You will work on complex packaging solutions, support integration of subsystems in the lab, and collaborate with cross functional groups to turn concepts into buildable hardware. Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing detailed electromechanical designs for avionics cards, cable harnesses and mechanical support structures.
• Producing complete release packages: 3 D models, 2 D drawings, bill of materials and design assurance documentation.
• Performing design review and verification activities with functional leads, program managers and customers.
• Integrating hardware into laboratory test environments and supporting subsystem to system integration efforts.
• Coordinating closely with engineering administration, designers, subcontractors, planning and quality teams during assembly, inspection and test phases.
• Applying design for manufacturability and design for test principles to ensure smooth transition from prototype to production.
• Maintaining up to date configuration control in LM tools (e.g., Windchill) and ensuring all documentation meets company standards.
• Traveling as needed to support site activities, supplier visits or customer demonstrations while primarily working onsite in Orlando.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be ABLE to obtain clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical Engineering or in a related field from an accredited university.
Experience with CREO, Catia, or similar 3D modeling software.
Hardware prototype experience, such as 3D printing
Experience with creating hardware drawings, drawing instructions, assembly instructions, Bill of Material (BOM), technical documentation, test documentation, etc. using CAD tools.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) principles.
Experience with Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Agile PLM or similar tools.
Experience with machine design, mechanical components, mechanical design, machine shops, etc.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
