Overview

The Supplier Development group is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team and drive performance to attain the Navys desired 1 COLUMBIA + 2 VIRGINIA annual production rate. The group is responsible for managing the Submarine Industrial Base (SIB) Supplier Development efforts as well as providing cross-functional support for other supply base initiatives aimed at increasing submarine industrial base capacity and capability to ensure suppliers are able to meet increased production requirements.

The chosen individual will support the efforts of a large enterprise team, including EB Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Strategic Sourcing, as well as liaison with subcontractors and the Navy Submarine Industrial Base team. Strong communication, project management, and consensus building skills are required.

This is an individual contributer role and responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the identification and execution of supplier action plans for investment and development to ensure successful expansion of the supply base
  • Monitor program risks, identify potential roadblocks, and make recommendations for resolution
  • Maintain program documentation, develop reports, presentations, and other materials to provide status of supply base improvements to stakeholders at all levels
  • Track initiative performance for the successful completion of short and long term goals including SDF Return on Investment as it relates to enterprise goal of 1 + 2 by 2028
  • Develop and implement program-specific processes, procedures, databases and repositories, and communications plans
  • Continuous interaction and coordination with the Program Office, Planning, Materials Management, , Operations, Contracts and Estimating, Engineering, Design-Build, Supplier Quality, Finance, Purchasing, Legal, and Facilities to support enterprise objectives
  • Additionally, candidates may support supply base-related engagements with external organizations including Congressional visits

  • Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelors degree
    • 2+ years of experience in either Supply Chain Management, Program Office, Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, and or Strategic Sourcing
    • Proven experience in project management, including metrics development, progress reporting and driving accountability
    • Experience communicating with internal and external leadership
    • Proven track record of successfully managing projects involving multiple stakeholders
    • Candidate must have proven ability to work in team environment with a demonstrated ability to foster a culture of teamwork and communications.
    Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering
  • Masters degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering
  • Knowledge of the Electric Boat supply base, supply chain management, and Integrated Enterprise Plan (IEP)
