This role owns program execution across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, leading a cross-functional team to meet customer commitments, drive operational rigor, deliver cost-out, and enable long-term strategic growth of the product line.
In this role, you will coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, services, and commercial teams to ensure that program priorities are clear, risks are managed, and performance is visible and improving.
At GE Aerospace in Vandalia, we specialize in manufacturing and servicing world-class power generation and electrical control and distribution equipment for a variety of aerospace customers. Vandalia is also home to a product development lab where operators and engineers work together to invent the future of flight.
Job Description
Role & Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Team Management
- Lead a high-performing cross-functional program team, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to achieve SQDC targets and business objectives.
- Communicate program vision, priorities, and goals regularly, ensuring alignment across functions and clarity on ownership, deliverables, and timelines.
- Establish and maintain effective operating rhythms (tiered meetings, program reviews, stand-ups) to drive focus, accountability, and timely decision-making.
- Develop talent and succession plans, providing ongoing feedback, mentoring, and performance management for direct and matrixed team members.
Operational Rigor & Performance Management
- Drive operational rigor through structured program management practices, standard work, and disciplined execution.
- Define and manage key program metrics (e.g., schedule adherence, delivery performance, cost, inventory, risk burndown, EHS and quality metrics).
- Lead regular program reviews with internal leadership and customers, clearly communicating status, risks, and recovery plans.
- Implement and track cost-out strategies, partnering with Engineering, Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Finance to achieve annual cost and productivity targets.
- Ensure robust risk and opportunity management, with clear mitigation plans, owners, and timelines.
Strategic Planning & Product Line Growth
- Support strategic organizational planning for the 777X product line, including resource planning, footprint decisions, and capability development.
- Contribute to long-range business plans, volume scenarios, and capacity planning to enable ramp readiness and lifecycle support.
- Collaborate with commercial and customer teams to understand airline and OEM priorities, feeding insights into product, services, and cost strategies.
- Identify and prioritize continuous improvement initiatives that enhance program competitiveness, customer satisfaction, and internal efficiency.
Issue Resolution & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary escalation point for significant program issues, owning coordination of cross-functional response and recovery plans.
- Facilitate timely issue resolution, ensuring the right technical, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality resources are engaged.
- Communicate clearly and transparently with internal leadership and, when appropriate, with customers on issues, root cause, and corrective actions.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including OEM partners, airline customers, suppliers, and internal functional leaders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Program/Project Management, or related field from an accredited college/university
- A minimum of 8 years of experience within Aerospace, industrial, or complex manufacturing environments
- A minimum of 6 years of experience leading complex programs or projects with cross-functional teams
Additional Information
- Ability and willingness to travel 20% (domestic/international) based on business needs
- Onsite work is required daily at the Vandalia, OH facility
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), or related field
- Proven track record managing schedule, cost, and risk in a matrixed organization
- Experience with commercial aviation programs, OEM interfaces, or major engine/airframe introductions
- Strong knowledge of program management tools and methodologies (e.g., integrated master schedules, risk registers, gated reviews)
- Experience with cost-out, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority across engineering, supply chain, and commercial organizations
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment, balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day execution
