The Advanced Design Tools (ADT) team is a software organization that develops and maintains a portfolio of engineering tools for GE Aerospace’s commercial and military divisions. These tools span scientific simulation, modeling, and visualization. As a Design System Integration Engineer and Developer, you’ll work across multiple science-based design organizations and engine product lines to develop, implement, and support next-generation software design tools and architectures. You’ll play a key role in advancing proprietary software packages, modernizing legacy applications, and driving innovation in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Define, develop, and evolve software in a fast-paced, agile development environment using the latest technologies and infrastructure.
- Provide technical leadership and collaborate with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements and vision.
- Drive efficiency across teams by eliminating duplication and leveraging product and technology reuse.
- Lead impact assessments and decisions related to technology choices, design/architectural considerations, and implementation strategies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in processes and methodologies, adapting and improvising in various situations.
- Navigate ambiguity and prioritize conflicting demands effectively.
- Demonstrate expert-level skills in design, architecture, and development, with the ability to dive deep into implementation when needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Strong professional background in software development and programming.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- Work location: Cincinnati, OH or Lynn, MA.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience with engineering tools, APIs, and integration (e.g., NX, NXOpen, ANSYS, APDL, C, C++, C#, QT, scripting).
- Background in enterprise-level software development, deployment, and support structures.
- Experience in developing custom tools within CAD software.
- Experience with multi-disciplinary turbomachinery design and gas turbine blade component fundamentals.
- Familiarity with UX design principles and the ability to quantify the effectiveness of design choices through data.
- Experience working in agile environments, participating in scrums/ceremonies, and using tools like Rally or Jira.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
