Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman has an immediate opportunity available for a Manager Logistics Engineering 1 located in Linthicum, Md. This is a dual-role functional Manager-1 position. As a dual-role position, the qualified candidate shall spend approximately 20% leading a team of Logistics Systems Engineers working on a variety of products supporting US Army, US Air Force, US Navy, US Marine Corps and other customers. The qualified candidate shall also be a technical performer, working approximately 80% directly on various Mission Systems products in a Logistics Engineering role.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review field support requirements and recommend tool and test equipment.
- Establish calibration requirements for field systems/equipment including all maintenance tasks.
- Perform maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers.
- Review handbooks for technical adequacy. A
- Assist in the development of maintenance engineering and logistics support.
- Plan and contributes to proposal efforts.
Management role:
- Manage employees based on organizational goals, program activity, and company policies.
- Apply both technical knowledge and organizational skills to solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Cultivate a productive workplace which meets strategic goals, and program-specific technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

- Recruit new talent to fulfill staffing commitments adequate to execute to program plans, as well as for strategic growth.
- Assign workforce assignments and fill program needs to ensure success, but which also offer growth to the individuals performing the work.
- Conduct performance evaluations on an ongoing basis to identify growth opportunities, deficiencies, appropriate training, and manage compensation and career progression. Facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters.
- Instruct employees and review employee work products described in the Job description section above. Review and signoff on proposal work products.
Logistics Engineering role:
- Perform a Logistics Engineering role in direct support of program activity, and is expected to perform one or more such tasks as:
- Product Support Analysis (PSA)
- Logistics Product Data (LPD) generation,
- Sustainment planning and execution,
- Repair tracking and trend analysis,
- Diminish Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) management.
- Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leadership for teams performing Design, Specialty Engineering and/or Product Support tasks.
- Conduct briefings and participate in technical meetings for internal and external representatives.
- Generation of proposal work products such as Basis of Estimate (BoE) and Technical Volume narratives.
- Multi-task and balance between programs and functional department responsibilities.
- Resolve conflicts and successfully resolve issues to meet requirements of program requirements, customers and employees.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 6 years of related experience or 4 Years with Masters or 2 Years experience with PhD.
- 5 years experience leading and mentoring people to meet technical, schedule, and cost constraints while maintaining an inclusive and engaging workplace.
- 5 years experience with DoW acquisition programs and of Integrated Product Support Analysis sufficient to instruct employees and review employee work products for compliance to program requirements and company processes.
- US citizenship.
- Must have a current/active Secret clearance. Secret clearance is required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous direct or indirect experience as a functional manager or significant team leadership role (IPT lead, CAM, project lead), especially in areas such as Systems Engineering, Specialty Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Systems Integration and Test.
- Working understanding of Sustainment Strategy development applied to military Electronic Mission System products.
- Working knowledge of Product Support specifications such as MIL-HDBK-502, TA-STD-0017, GEIA-STD-0007 and SD-22, sufficient to instruct employees and review employee work products for compliance.
- Familiarity with other organizational functions such as supply chain, procurement, manufacturing/repair operations, and mission assurance.
