Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager of General Manufacturing 1, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within the HALE Program. This position is in Palmdale, California and cannot be performed remotely due to the nature of the role.

This leader will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of manufacturing processes to ensure efficient and timely production of aircraft. This role involves managing a team of employees, implementing production schedules, ensuring quality standards are met, and optimizing production processes to minimize costs and maximize productivity. The Manager General Manufacturing 1 works closely with other departments to ensure that aircraft are produced to meet customer demand, delivered on time, and meet the company's financial goals. They are also responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and complying with relevant regulations and industry standards. Overall, the Manager General Manufacturing 1 plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of the manufacturing and delivery process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct and execute day‐to-day operational objectives

  • Collaborate with production scheduling to meet schedule requirements

  • Serve as liaison with functional teams to ensure proper coordination of support and availability of required parts, tools, equipment or information

  • Perform root cause analysis for corrective actions on safety & quality incidents

  • Maintain department training and certification requirements

  • Talent development through the performance management process, including individual and team goal setting

  • Hold one on ones, performance reviews, and compensation conversations with non-exempt employees

  • Provide timecard management of non-exempt employees

  • Drive results through continuous improvement and process adherence

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED and four years of manufacturing experience in aerospace, automotive, military, or related environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree and three years of manufacturing experience in aerospace, automotive, military, or related environment also accepted

  • Must have one year of prior management or leadership experience

  • Experience working in a DoD contract environment

  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access

  • Candidates must be willing to work any scheduled, including Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM (1st shift) or 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM (2nd shift)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing

  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and teams

  • Ability to provide direction and determine priorities to achieve goals

  • Ability to develop and present material to program members

  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and develop solutions to problems

  • Experience as a manufacturing lead or supervisor

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

  • Ability to obtain SAP

Primary Level Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
