Lockheed Martin Space in Valley Forge, PA is seeking a summer intern for 2026. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of engineering principles, strong in math and science. The candidate should have an understanding and ability to apply basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts. Must be a US Citizen; Ability to obtain a security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. This position is in one of the coolest places to work: King of Prussia, PA.
This posting is for Lockheed Martin Space college student in Valley Forge as an Mechanical Engineer supporting a variety of programs in the Strategic Missile Defense Line of business. Under senior engineering supervision, you will have the opportunity to create, update, and critically evaluate 3D CAD models when provided design documentation. Duties will include becoming familiar with CREO 3D modeling and a variety of engineering tools to formulate & validate mechanical designs. As part of the group, this candidate will collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines such as thermal, dynamic, stress, reliability, EMC, and survivability analyses to assure compliant design. Interest in learning additive design principles (3D printing) is desired. Solid engineering background and strong communication skills are needed. Basic Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled in an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or other related bachelor's degree program from an accredited college/university.
- This position requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen and the ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) clearance.

Desired skills :
- Experience or coursework in design with understanding of electronics, structures, mechanics and materials.
- CREO experience would be desired, but not required.
- Experience or coursework in 3D printing/prototyping.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
