Overview

This posting is for Electrical Technician within Nuclear Test Operations to support all shifts.

This position will require electrical testing of nuclear components in accordance with their respective test procedure, performing alignment and alignment checks of Nuclear Instrumentation and Detectors, and performing the duties of Safety Technician to ensure that systems are properly tagged out, isolated, and de-energized in order for other trades to perform work safely.

Candidates must be able to understand electrical system diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and be able to perform troubleshooting in accordance with Test Engineer/Shift Test Engineer documentation when required.

The selected individual must understand the requirements and comply with the EB Safety Manual, various technical manuals, and applicable department instructions when working on energized equipment.

Some heavy lifting is required along with crawling and working in tight, confined spaces.

The applicant must be medically able and willing to qualify as a Contamination Worker to obtain and maintain dosimetry. In addition, the individual must be able to pass all required trade training qualifications.



Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent or 2+ years related technical experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, electronics, or electrical assembly, installation and repair
  • Per union agreement, candidates are required to be available for all shifts.

Preferred:

  • Post High School Trade School diploma
  • Previous U.S. Navy or Nuclear Test Operations experience or shipboard testing with electrical systems
  • Candidates should be able to read & work from electrical system diagrams, blue prints and schematics
