Overview

The Quonset Point Quality Assurance Ship Certification Team is seeking a motivated candidate for a 1st shift Quality Assurance Records Supervisor position. The person selected for this role will lead a Quality Assurance Records team that will support module shipout and ship certification efforts for the COLUMBIA, VIRGINIA, and DREADNAUGHT programs, support QP facility efforts for NAVSEA audits, and drive solutions to cross-functional quality challenges at QP.

The D938 QA Records team is comprised of ship certification representatives and analysts. The selected candidate will lead the 1st shift QA team that serves as the Quonset Point technical experts with various ship certification records, including, but not limited to Ripouts and all 7G certification documentation, Material Quality, Controlled Pipe Joint, Mechanical Joint Records, and Structural Joint Records.

Functions of QA Records team include, but are not limited to:

  • Status, Processing and Review of Ripouts in 7G
  • Manual Filing of Certification Records
  • Custodian of the Confidential QP Plan Vault
  • Assist in review, modification and implementation of Quality procedures
  • Certification of: Material Quality, Mechanical Joint Records (MJR), Structural Joint Records (SWSS), and Re-entry Control
  • Perform Quality related drawing and specification reviews
  • Provide support of NAVSEA audits (Phase 1, Phase II, Functional, and NAVSEA 08)
  • Support ISO certification audits for the facility
  • Support internal investigations into Quality matters as assigned by the department Manager
  • Interface regularly with internal and external customers
  • This position is located at the North Kingstown, RI location.

    Qualifications

    Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4 plus years as an EB Quality Assurance Certification Representative
  • Demonstrated experience with certification of Controlled Pipe Joint Records
  • Demonstrated experience with certification of Special Emphasis Program (SEP) and non SEP RIPOUTs
  • Demonstrated experience with processing Test Inspection Reports in 7G
  • Demonstrated experience supporting internal and external records audits
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense
  • Preferred:

    • 2 plus years of previous supervisor experience in an industry supporting military contracts
    • Previous military or operations experience
    • In-depth knowledge of SEP records certification requirements
    • Demonstrated experience with a variety of NDT (MT, PT, RT, UT) and inspection documentation (SWSS/ERS weld tickets, CPJ 905 cards, 2552s, Ripouts, etc.)
    • 5+ years' experience interfacing with internal and external customers (e.g. Engineering, Operations, Quality, Planning, SUPSHIP or NAVSEA)
    • Demonstrated experience with EB business system programs such as Artemis, MRPII, Electronic Desktop, Business Objects, TeamCenter
