Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. Major duties

Incumbent assists in a variety of technical and specialized administrative tasks, to support library operations to include: acquiring, processing, distributing, and disposing of library materials, and maintaining patron accounts. Accurately records and compiles statistics on library usage including circulation, program attendance, computer usage, reference questions, and patron count. Explains library policies, rules, regulations, circulation procedures, and entitlements to library customers. Responsible for circulation procedures, including checking library materials in and out, verifying customer access to the facility. Facilitating and completing holds and ILL requests. Registers new patron accounts and demonstrates competence in navigating online public access catalogs and virtual resources. Assists customers in locating and utilizing specific library operations and resources, including room reservations, programming, reference, and Makerspace. Assists patrons with computer lab and regularly troubleshoots computer issues. Communicates information in a simple, clear, and straightforward manner. Participates in various events, programs, and projects to achieve library mission. Concentration of duties may be in the following areas: cataloging, processing, circulation, electronic and virtual resources, classification system alignment, Makerspace, programming, and computers/technology usage. Additional responsibilities include generating reports, providing statistical data, and condensing information for further compilation. Incumbent must be flexible and adaptable to new business requirements, updates to information systems, and technology changes. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage result due library materials. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One year of experience in an administrative, technical, or customer support role that includes duties requiring attention to detail, recordkeeping, use of automated systems, and public interaction. Experience may include work in libraries, education, recreation, museums, information centers, or other roles that are both customer-focused and clerical in nature. Equivalent education in library science or closely related fields may be substituted for experience. Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, and copiers. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. Must be able to obtain and maintain TIER-1 Child Care (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age.
