Job summary
This position is located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will be paid. Recruitment or Relocation incentive or bonus in the amount of $10,000 is authorized. Recruitment Incentive for outside applicant or Relocation for current NAF employee incentive will have a stipulation requiring the employee to reimburse the incentive if they do not have continuous employment for one year.
Major duties
Oversees a comprehensive aircraft program for the MWR Flying Activity. Uses independent judgement and initiative in planning for and managing the equipment of the Flying Activity. Exercises technical knowledge of the concepts, characteristics, properties, and uses of aircraft, general items and ground support equipment needed in aircraft maintenance. Ensures equipment necessary for maintenance of aircraft is available. Analyze maintenance and repair operations to determine best methods of sustainability and improvement. Responsible for purchasing and receiving supplies, repair parts, and replacement supplies affecting the overall readiness of the activity. Provides technical guidance regarding issues and repairs that may arise. Works closely with Mechanics to ensure that they have the proper equipment, tooling, fixtures, parts and materials to perform the task assigned. Ensures all required records are preserved. Maintains program and administrative reference materials, project files, and relevant background documents. Prepares reports and maintains records of work accomplishments. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification

Successful completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited undergraduate institution in any field, plus a graduate degree in a relevant field that directly aligns with the responsibilities of this position: OR Experience at a level that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for successful performance: Working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker with knowledge of operation, repair, or maintenance of aircraft equipment. Demonstrated work experience with reviewing, interpreting, and applying technical specifications, standards, and requirements. Proven experience in analyzing aircraft equipment performance, identifying potential failures, and forecasting spare parts needs. Ability to accurately read, understand, and interpret equipment requisitions and work orders. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess a minimum of (3) years demonstrated work experience performing maintenance on variety of fixed wing "General Aviation" aircraft. Possess and maintains a current Inspection Authorization Certificate. Experience MUST be clearly reflected on your Resume at the time of application to be considered
