Prior to reporting for duty the selectee must be found eligible for a DoD Top Secret security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), AND be approved for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (Yankee White – Category II, minimum). This position is NOT subject to the limitations imposed by the DOD Priority Placement Program per Secretary of Defense Memorandum dated 09 MAR 2018. This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. Positions in the Cyber Excepted Service are positions necessary to carry out and support the mission of the United States Cyber Command.

It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the SUPERVISION/MANAGEMENT Work Category at the SENIOR Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - ACQ/TRANSPORT PEO (IE112).
Major duties
Incumbent performs the full range of supervisory duties, managing a staff of subordinates, planning work to be accomplished, setting priorities and scheduling work to be completed within the section. Technical authority for a variety of projects regarding planning, analysis, design, development, testing, integration, and management of networked systems. Skill in written and oral communications sufficient to present sensitive recommendations regarding complex issues and risks to higher authority. Mastery of hardware/software architecture related to network communication systems. Ability to oversee the design and development stages of network projects and formulate strategies required to integrate new technology into the current hardware, software, and communications architecture. Provide direct technical leadership and management for production support teams, overseeing Tier 3 issue resolution to ensure maximum system stability and reliability. Define the strategy and oversee the maintenance of the team's test lab environment, ensuring it is properly resourced and equipped to support all current and future development, testing and automation activities.
Qualification
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Attention to Detail Customer Service Oral Communication Problem Solving Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: experience managing team projects, planning, analysis, design, development, testing, integration and experience performing or analyzing qualitative and quantitative analysis in efforts to assess and improve networks through testing and integration of new technologies. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
Education
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-14 grade level
