This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) handles the day-to-day operations of Army installations.
Major duties
Develop training courses based on regulatory requirements. Supervise training for guard personnel in the use of weapons, protection against espionage, sabotage, suppression of riots, demonstrations and disorders, traffic and crowd control, etc. Set organizational goal and develop strategies to achieve targets while considering resource requirements. Apply requirements for equipping and securing government and contractor facilities to guard against unauthorized access to ensure continuity of operations. Manage workforce to include, organizing work, evaluating work performance, and ensuring staff is appropriately selected, utilized, and developed. Manage training and education for individuals and groups within learning environments to include tailoring instruction to ensure learners' needs are met and learning outcomes are achieved. Perform access control duties to grant access to the installation, as needed.
Qualification
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing security for the purpose of protecting personnel and physical property; planning and scheduling work for employees; read, create, and enforce policies and procedures; perform supervisory duties (i.e., resolving complaints from employees and grievances; and manage guard shift duties/personnel for complete force coverage). This experience is an example of work that is equivalent to the next lower grade or similar position (GS-08).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
