You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the Information Resources Management Department of COMFLEACT OKINAWA. ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.
Major duties
You will maintain inventory database of all hardware, software, and services relating to user, location and asset information. You will ensure compliance with documented standards and approved equipment and software product lists. You will serve as the responsible agent for the plans, coordination, and documentation associated with new construction and/or renovation of the organizations telecommunications systems. You will perform tasks associated with installation, implementation, customer technical support and operational maintenance for a variety of hardware platforms and software environments, network devices configuration and connectivity tasks. You will perform duties pertaining to the proper administration of and management and inventory of hardware, software, Information Technology (IT) systems, telecommunications, end users and space, and technical customer support.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include analyzing policy, plans, and procedures to develop new directives. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provide customers with advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in development and operation of network systems. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include advising management on alternative courses of action concerning functional and technical considerations of planned and existing IT applications, capabilities, and programs. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Resolves problems by applying regulations, precedent actions and other general guidelines and take action for corrective measures. In addition to the experience demonstrating the four competencies above, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying advanced information technology (IT) principles, concepts, methods and practices to analyze and define network requirements, network architecture and infrastructures and independently plan and coordinate the installation, testing , operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
