Amentum is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our team of passionate individuals in Springfield, VA. In this role you will support challenging, mission-critical projects that make a direct impact on the Nation’s security and intelligence mission.

GEODS is a cross-functional team that utilizes the latest AWS developments and practices to manage a large customer-facing data lake. The Access and Authorization team is tackling the challenging and critical task of ensuring secure and compliant data access. As a Developer on our team, you will design, implement, and maintain complex data access policies and features that ensure data is accessible to the authorized users while adhering to strict compliance standards. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by shaping the infrastructure for access and authorization policies, collaborating with a talented team, and contributing to both new and existing systems.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full software release lifecycle, from preparation and build to deployment and post-release monitoring.

• Participate in code reviews and sprint planning meetings.

• Attending daily stand-up meetings to discuss progress and roadblocks.

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable software solutions.

• Lead technical discussions and provide architectural guidance in collaboration with the team.

• Analyze existing application processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Collaborate with developers, testers, integration and operations teams to prepare and produce timely and reliable releases of software components.

• Work closely with QA engineers to ensure thorough testing and high-quality releases.

• Debug and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions.

• Create and maintain technical and configuration management documentation

• Stay current with the latest technologies and industry trends.

• Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in Java

• Demonstrated experience in JavaScript or Python

• Experience with developing Web APIs

• Experience in Amazon Web Services Platforms and Technologies (AWS)

• Experience with AWS Serverless tech: Lambda, Step Functions, Dynamo, SQS/SNS

• Experience with other AWS Stacks ECS, EC2, S3, Athena, Kinesis, SageMaker

• Experience in CI/CD Process (GitLab)

Clearance Required:

• Active TS/SCI with the ability to gain and maintain a Poly

Minimum Years of Education:

• Master’s Degree plus 2 years’ experience, Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years’ experience, Associates degree plus 8 years’ experience, or a minimum of 6 years of experience, in a related field

Minimum Years of Experience:

• Master’s Degree plus 2 years’ experience, Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years’ experience, Associates degree plus 8 years’ experience, or a minimum of 6 years of experience, in a related field

Preferred:

• Experience with Container and Orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)

• Demonstrated experience with No-SQL and SQL databases (ElasticSearch/PostgreSQL)

• Experience in working on Linux systems (RHEL)

• NGA Imagery and Data Repositories

• Experience in Oracle databases
