Grounds Maintenance/Groundskeeper

Amentum is seeking a Grounds Maintenance/Groundskeeper to join our team on Andros Island, Bahamas to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) mission. This position is reserved for Bahamian citizens only. Must be a citizen of the Bahamas.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintain a variety of facilities including athletic fields, industrial areas, schools, residential areas, beaches, parks and common areas.

• Use a variety of tools and other equipment that may be introduced into the workplace.

• Reports directly to the Roads & Grounds Manager.

• Cuts lawns using hand mowers, power mowers or riding mowers.

• Trims and edges around walks, flower beds and walls using clippers, weed cutters and edging tools.

• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth.

• Removes damaged leaves, branches and twigs using shears, pruners or chain saws.

• Cleans grounds and removes litter and debris using rake, pitchfork or shovel.

• Cleans drainage ditches and culverts using shovel and rake.

• Cleans all equipment after use and properly stores them away.

• Maintains equipment by using grease gun and may sharpen tools.

• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and streamline processes.

• Works cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.

• May perform a variety of laboring duties, common to groundskeeping operations.

• May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 1 year of general maintenance experience.

• Working knowledge of groundskeeping.

• Working knowledge of tools for maintenance.

• Ability read and write in English.

• Ability to pass a police record check.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
