Job Description

Amentum is seeking a Retail Store Cashier to join our team on Andros Island, Bahamas to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) mission. This position is reserved for Bahamian citizens only. Must be a citizen of the Bahamas.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and maintain the retail store organizational scheme, so that materials can be quickly located, retrieved, and inventoried by ensuring products are stored in a safe and stable fashion and in their assigned locations.
  • Process incoming materials and handle discrepancies per the retail store inventory policies and procedures.
  • Check quality, condition, expiration date, and quantity to ensure vendors are providing products ordered.
  • Research what would improve the retail store customer experience.
  • Provide excellent customer service by developing strong working relationships with co-workers, and on-site customers.
  • Compile operational data and complete assigned ERRP monthly reports.
  • Collaborate with Retail Supervisor to forecast inventory needs and figure out the best procurement channels to meet customer demand.
  • Collaborate with Retail Warehouse Manager to develop, maintain, and update processes, policies and procedures as needed.
  • Act as the retail store Hurricane Coordinator.
  • May perform additional follow-up and research for administrative errors and accountability.
  • Organize required government documentation in hard copy and computerized files that can easily be accessed for review when necessary.
  • Assists the Retail Warehouse, and Base Services Managers with projects as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide timely, empathetic assistance that puts the customers at the forefront.
  • PC literate with excellent data-entry skills and a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays as well as working a non-traditional regular work week.
  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and seek out new POS features and updates that increase ERRP efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Must be a self-starter who is process and detail-oriented capable of working with limited supervision.
  • Excellent time-management, oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift, move, or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An associate degree is a plus.
  • Experience working in an institutional type of retail store/warehouse or military supply environment preferred.
  • A certified Excel Microsoft Specialist preferred.
