Job Description

Amentum is looking for a highly organized individual with experience in government contracting and construction to be responsible for overseeing personnel and implementing necessary work control procedures. Ensure quality and timely completion of all work in accordance with the requirements of the contract. Oversight includes project, preventative maintenance and emergency, urgent and corrective repair work orders in all statuses.

Summary:

Assist the Custodial & Grounds Manager with the oversight of all assigned tasks of the Subcontractors and Technicians in the areas of Custodial, Grounds Maintenance and Pest Control to ensure the safe and timely completion of work both on the Air Station and the outlaying sites.

Performance Location : The individual filling this position will be supporting Amentum on a contract for the US Department of Defense and working at the Marine Corps Air Station, Iwakuni, Japan.

Working Environment: The candidate will work on maintenance sites including exposure to the dangers inherent with traveling to and working on such sites. This is a non-SOFA assignment

Work Schedule: This position works eight hours/day, five days a week minimum.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all assigned tasks of the (Japanese and English speaking) Subcontractors and Technicians in the areas of Custodial, Grounds Maintenance and Pest Control to ensure timely completion of resulting work is to the quality standard
  • Performs property and work area condition assessments and safety audits as needed
  • Assists the Program Management team in the safe performance of work tasks in all applicable areas, oversee the proper implementation of THA’s AHA’s and audit the work appropriately.
  • Comply with all Amentum corporate Environmental Health & Safety Program and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.
  • Coordinates the receipt and completion of Deliverables for final submission to the USG
  • Acts as a liaison for vendor/supplier relationships with the Company Subcontracts team.
  • Perform quality inspections, reports, initiates and oversee corrective actions.
  • Provides technical assistance as needed to members of the O&M team.
  • Ensure accountability, control and security of all assigned property, material, tools, equipment and vehicles.
  • Ensure all personnel have required safety equipment and training to perform tasks
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Acceptable Experience and Qualification Levels :

  • Previous experience managing direct reports is preferred.
  • Prior experience in an operations and maintenance or construction environment is required
  • Previous experience with a work order management system such as a Maximo or SAP based CMMS is preferred.
  • Previous experience working directly with a customer
  • Must be an average user of Microsoft office suite in the areas of Word, Outlook and Excel in English interface.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Language Requirements:

  • Must be intermediate in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Must have oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with employees, management, and the client.

Professional Licenses & Certifications :

  • A certification or history of training or employment in this area is highly desirable such as Arborist, Horticulturalist, DoD Pesticide Applicator Certification, Pest Control Operator or Pest Management Supervisor.

Other Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess a valid passport of home country with a minimum of 12 months remaining to expiration date. If not currently a resident of Japan
  • Will be expected to obtain a company-sponsored Japanese Work Visa if not currently a resident of Japan
  • Position requires the applicant to drive in the performance of work duties. Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Japanese Driver License and be able to operate a Company provided motor vehicle on MCAS Iwakuni.
  • Transportation is not provided to locally hired personnel for the purpose of commute to and from the workplace. Non-locally hired are expected to obtain and maintain the legal ability to operate a Company provided vehicle both on and off the installation for the purpose of commute and/or on-site transportation. Those unable to obtain and maintain the legal means to operate a motor vehicle in Japan or aboard the installation will be responsible for their own transportation for all purposes.

Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
