Essential Functions

• Responsible for testing standard and/or custom products and equipment to assess their performance and reliability.
• Ensures products are designed and implemented in accordance to established quality standards and specifications.
• Serves as a primary source for problem identification and improvement.
• Selects testing specifications for new/existing products and ensures testing procedures are in compliance to industry standards.
• Documents procedures for all phases of testing and test results.
• Improves and automates the test methodology.


Required Qualifications


• Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience
• Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required
• Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications


• Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Conformance testing. Product testing. Test engineering. Quality standard development. Bug/defect identification. Industry standards. Test documentation. Bug tracking software. Software testing tools. Oral and written communication skills. Critical thinking. Analytical thinking.
• Proficient in testing of ordnance and other energetic-loaded items, and associated diagnostics, to include:
• Experienced in creation of test plans and test reports to support ordnance testing operations
• Willing and able to travel to outside vendor and external test sites as needed
• Proficient in test failure diagnosis, using standard methodologies (5-Why, 8D, fishbone diagrams, etc.)
• Ability to obtain and maintain up to a collateral SECRET clearance
• Experience with shaped charge warheads and associated manufacturing and test techniques highly preferred


Physical Requirements


• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• This position is Safety-Sensitive.
