Job summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain DoD Personnel to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Major duties

Serves as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist and senior systems administrator within the Allied Special Operations Forces Command (SOFCOM), Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO). Oversees, installs and administers Tier 2 and 3 Core Microsoft Domain Services and software on classified and unclassified workstations and servers for SOFCOM activities throughout the NATO footprint. Leads work for new system implementation and lifecycle replacements. Coordinates automation requirements of SOFCOM personnel to locations in the supported AOR.

Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 or equivalent performing the following duties: Serve as an IT systems administrator and service delivery subject matter expert on a general officer level staff. Perform a variety of tasks related to Enterprise management and troubleshooting, group policy management and troubleshooting, Active Directory security and permissions, IA policies and implementation in the Enterprise, and VMware virtual environment management. Possess knowledge of Cisco UCS and Hyperflex technologies / VxRail. Serves as a senior technical POC for Tier 2 and 3 maintenance and services, coordinating training, improving software baselines and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: 1. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
