Job summary

Major duties
You will operate comminutor or barminutor, grit removal system, splitter boxes, valves, pumps, collector systems, and primary settling tanks to move sewage and sludge through the pretreatment and primary treatment stages. You will perform tertiary operation functions, utilizing equipment such as: chemical mixing tanks: chemical feed pumps, flocculation tanks with flocculators; chemical feeders for dry and liquid feeding of polymer. You will respond to warning signals of the variety of alarm systems in the plant, investigates the reason, and takes appropriate action to correct the problem. You will operate a centrifuge vacuum coil filter or a belt filter press for final sludge disposal. You will perform operator maintenance on all equipment utilized by oiling, greasing, replacing parts, and adjusting in accordance with T(P}Ms, SOPs, manufacturers manuals, and written and oral instructions of superior.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including adhering to safety procedures in mixing chemicals; checking equipment for proper operation and malfunctions, and complying with established instructions and regulations. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
