Job summary
You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION MANAGER in the Transportation Branch of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD FAR EAST. ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.
Major duties
Review transportation work accomplished by junior employees to verify work is being completed in safe and prescribed manner. Develop and administer policies and procedures for the assignment, distribution, and use of transportation equipment. Analyze transportation operation methods or procedures to confirm safety standards meet established regulations. Review an Equipment Inventory Program to recommend solutions to problems concerning transportation assets. Coordinate support (e.g., planning, licensing) for transportation equipment operations to achieve objectives within the department. Manage the maintenance of transportation equipment (e.g., vehicles, weight handling equipment).
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing, planning, coordinating, and directing all operations and maintenance of various transportation equipment and weight handling equipment to include transportation and inventory management, Government vehicles, Weight Handling Equipment, Heavy equipment operations and coordination; AND overall budgeting requirements. Additional Information Continued: This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
