Job summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a military technician position with the 99th Readiness Division, Equipment Concentration Site (ECS) 93 at Fort Eustis, Virginia. This position may offer a $5,000 recruitment bonus (see Additional Information Section)
Major duties

Qualification
POSITION IS ANNOUNCED AS A STANDING REGISTER (OPEN CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT): First cutoff date to evaluate candidates will be 09 Feburary 2024 at 11:59 PM. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Tools and Parts Attendant ~ without more than normal supervision. Applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: perform common operations of a tools and parts room. I can determine, identify, and select tools and parts described by users for intended use; determine methods and techniques for setting up and shifting storage locations and determine when tools and equipment should be routed to appropriate shops for possible repairs. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort Required Work is performed on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Attendant frequently lifts and carries tools, parts, supplies and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Hand trucks, dollies and forklifts (4,000-15,000 lbs.) are available for use in handling heavier items. Working Conditions Works in storage area which is well lighted, fairly clean, and well heated but occasionally drafty and noisy. There is some possibility of minor cuts and bruises.
